Accessibility Statement
Coles Whalen wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. If something on the site gets in your way, we want to hear about it and fix it.
Our goal
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the widely used standard for accessible web content. We review the site with automated testing tools and manual checks, and we fix issues as we find them.
What we’ve built in
The site is designed so that pages can be zoomed and resized, text and buttons have readable color contrast, and every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible marker showing where you are. Videos and audio players have descriptive titles, images that carry meaning have text descriptions, and form fields have labels.
Known limitations
Some parts of the site are outside our direct control or not yet fully accessible:
- Embedded content from other services. Videos (YouTube), music players (Spotify), and the newsletter sign-up (Substack) come from those providers. Their captions, controls, and keyboard behavior are theirs to maintain.
- Downloadable files. Some documents in the speaker and press kit, such as PDFs, may not be fully accessible to screen readers. If you need one in another format, ask, and we’ll provide it.
- Color contrast. A few small labels on colored backgrounds may fall short of the minimum contrast ratio.
Tell us if you run into a problem
If you have trouble using any part of this site, or you need information in a different format, email coles@coleswhalen.com. Please include the page address and a short description of the problem. We aim to reply within 2 business days.
